Helena Farstad
Associate DirectorHelena is a change management professional who thrives on challenging the status quo. She started her career training as an accountant and project manager with ICI plc, and moved to Lloyds TSB in early 2008. Post the Lloyds TBS acquisition of HBOS, she took the Corporate Banking Finance team through the initial phases of the integration process.
Helena left the corporate world a few years later with the ambition to combine her corporate experience with community ambition, leading a small business-led environmental charity to double in reach and mature as an organisation. She subsequently provided business consultancy services to a series of start-ups and smaller independent enterprises with an environmental and social objective in sectors including fintech, hospitality and fashion. Working with mostly owner-led enterprises has provided her with a profound understanding of the many challenges small business encounter whilst appreciating the crucial role they play in our society.
Helena believes the purpose of business needs to fundamentally change in order to create a genuinely sustainable economy and is working towards this goal in her professional and personal capacities. She grew up in Norway, lives with her family in North London and has been part of the Project Rome team since 2017.
